Highlights:
Definitely, the most thrilling assignment of my professional life! Being on stage with the famous singer Sting and his wife Trudie Styler was a real emotional challenge. All eyes were on us, when I was whispering to them and even more so when I was translating their speech into Italian.
Having lunch with them “outside the spotlight” and sharing life and family anecdotes, feeling completely at ease thanks to their great kindness.

Highlights:
A fixed appointment for 10 years now, with filmmakers, critics, journalists and cinephiles. Behind the scenes translating old movies but also on stage, presenting prestigious film restorations. After so many years, it’s like being with family!

Highlights:
Training courses may seem simple but in reality they require thorough preparation as well as adaptability. Be it under the hood of a car, in a manufacturing plant or among temperas and colour chips, my added value is understanding the concepts behind what I have to translate.
Trainers (in different areas) often say: “You could teach the course yourself as you understand the subject perfectly – you don’t need me!”

Update on Heart Failure – international congress of cardiology in Campobasso, Italy

Highlights:
Medical conferences require thorough preparation. Even if cardiology is one of my areas of specialization, I always consult a lot of literature before any event and draft a bilingual glossary containing the most common terms and expressions. I also write a list of acronyms used in the field as they always present a challenge, especially when speakers pronounce them at the speed of light.

Highlights:
RSI deeply changed our way of working. Our home office or a hotel room can become a virtual interpreting booth. However, the right professional equipment is a must, as well as knowing how the main RSI platforms work.
RSI allows us to virtually travel from one country to another, from one situation to another and to get to know new, foreign booth partners. This is extremely exciting and challenging at the same time because you are very often out of your comfort zone, thus growing continuously as a professional.

PROCHILD meetings –
EU project – a multi-professional model to tackle violence against children

Highlights:
I travelled to Paris and Athens to interpret the project meetings and had the chance to follow the EU project until its very end. It was a wonderful experience both from a human and a professional point of view. Working with a group of experts in a field as delicate as child abuse is a source of great personal enrichment.
